Journey to Discovery Park
Beyond the Cityscape
From your refined retreat at Hotel Theodore, the vibrant energy of downtown Seattle is yours to explore. Yet, for those moments when you yearn for a deeper connection with the Pacific Northwest’s untamed beauty, a truly exceptional destination awaits. A 20-minute drive from our doors transports you to Discovery Park, a sprawling 534-acre sanctuary that offers a profound escape into nature. This journey is for the traveler ready to venture beyond the city's immediate hum, promising a rewarding immersion in coastal forests, dramatic bluffs, and tranquil shores.
Discovery Park is Seattle’s largest urban park, but its immense scale and rugged landscape feel worlds away from any city. The park occupies most of the former Fort Lawton, and its protected grounds offer a stunning variety of ecosystems. As you arrive, you are welcomed by open meadows and deep forests of native trees. A network of over 11 miles of trails invites you to wander, whether you seek a gentle stroll or a more invigorating hike. Follow the Loop Trail, a popular 2.8-mile path that winds through the heart of the park, offering glimpses of wildlife and shifting scenery.
