Welcome

Experiencing the Pacific Northwest

From its very beginnings, the building encapsulated Seattle’s pioneering spirit. Hotel Theodore opened as the Roosevelt Hotel in 1930, named after the 26th U.S. president, who’d visited Seattle in 1903. We continue to be inspired by Seattle’s long tradition of makers, builders and doers, as evidenced by our art collection curated in collaboration with the Museum of History & Industry. Atop the hotel you’ll still see the Roosevelt sign, an iconic Seattle landmark that remains an integral part of the cityscape and the area’s history.

Welcome to Hotel Theodore.

    Explore

The ever-present gentle rain may be one of Seattle’s most distinctive (and endearing) characteristics. Really, who doesn’t love sitting in the warm light of a welcoming, safely distanced bar, wrapping your hands around a steaming hot toddy, watching the rain dance on windowpanes?

But with the vivid hues of fall painting Western Washington’s hills and valleys, and with the breathtaking beauty of Puget Sound in our own backyard, a little drizzle is no reason to stay cooped up inside. A bracing autumn hike glimpsing orcas or collecting chanterelles may just be the quintessential Seattle experience you’re looking for.

Whether you’re seeking outdoor adventures or very much the indoorsy type – traversing trails or noshing pho – you’ll find endless ways to embrace all of autumn’s incredible bounty in the Emerald City.
